Yutaka Kakuma

Community Engagement Coordinator
As one of the alumnus of ICU, Yutaka currently works for urban development at City Hall. After enjoying working with people of different backgrounds in the Dominican Republic as a member of international cooperation program, he founded Glocal Mitaka along with other members in order for exchange students to contribute to the local community.
Takashi Nishio

Advisor
Takashi is one of the founders of Glocal Mitaka and has taught fields of public administration and municipal management. He has experience living in Mitaka, Princeton, London, Sydney and Honolulu.
Sanae Eda
江田早苗
Director
Sanae is one of the founders of Glocal Mitaka who established this organization as a way of creating a framework where exchange students can contribute to the local community. She is Head of Middlebury College school in Japan and can speak four languages; Japanese, English, Chinese and Spanish.
Junko Namba
難波順子
Kids and Family Program Coordinator
Graduated from a university in the United States, Junko (Namba) teaches English to local children at her home. Since encountering Glocal Mitaka through the Home Visit program, she has been working as an important member of our organization especially in the fields of children and families.
Nanako Matsumoto
松本奈々子
Dance and Cultural Program Facilitator
Graduated ICU in 2015, Nanako currently studies lifelong learning in graduate school. She has participated in Glocal Mitaka since she first met Glocal Mitaka at the Picture Book volunteer, and now organizes a dance workshop with other exchange students.
Atsuko Kuronuma

Future Practitioner-Scholar in Service-Learning
Atsuko met Glocal Mitaka during a Service-Learning course at ICU, and has been working as a secretariat of this organization as well as participating in projects like language exchange and Manga workshop.
Karen Kojima
小島かれん
Student Volunteer
Currently a sophomore at ICU, Karen works at Glocal Mitaka as a student volunteer/intern. Her interests are centered around educational disparity and media, and participates in children-related events such as Picture Book Volunteer.
Kunie Ito

Family and Welfare Program Coordinator
Kunie started working at Glocal Mitaka after participating in the Homestay program with her family. She is a coordinator for children/family targeted events including the Home Visit program, and also works as a local welfare facilitator for Mitaka City.
Junko Hayashi
林順子
Public Program Collaborator
Junko (Hayashi) and her experience with Glocal Mitaka began from the hospitality for exchange students. After realizing the countless ways to enjoy working together with exchange students to contribute to the community, she enjoys interacting with people from different backgrounds and making connections.
Maya Willyard
ウィリヤード真弥
Student Volunteer
Currently a student volunteer at Glocal Mitaka. She mostly works with children in teaching English in an interactive way and help expose children to multiculturalism that is hard to find in Japan.
